Why I do what I do

It's not always cynicism and hysterics around here.  Some days are made to be sentimental.

Today is one of those days.

Do you want to know why I run?
Why I am truly passionate about running.
Why I spend oodles of money on shoes that get me through 10 mile days?
Why I do what I do?

I do it because I can.
And because there are people out there who can't.
Because they are sitting in a chemo treatment room.
Or sitting in a doctor's office nervously waiting the news of their MRI.
Or undergoing surgery to remove malignant tumors.

I do it because 9 years ago I lost a best friend.
I run because I don't know what else I can do to help combat cancer.
I run because I want to keep her spirit alive.
I run in memory of her.

I train with Team In Training.
And this is my tribute.

If you would like to help my cause and to help combat the fight against cancer, please link up below and click on the DONATE section.  I'd love you forever.
